Well, RallyCrossers! I have good news and I have bad news.
The good news is that a number of competitors and motorsport community volunteers pitched in at the AMP Work party today to make the Back 40 better than ever for RallyCross. We excavated hundreds of pounds of Nova Scotia Geology from potential course routes and Bruce McNutt and his handy excavator made good dent in levelling out some of the rises and trenches that have formed over the years.
The bad news is currently the Back 40 is a sucking swamp of red AMP mud and no matter how dry it is for the next week we can’t run on November 10th without destroying the lot of the rest of the season. We need at least two weeks of dry weather or for the temperature to drop significantly and that’s just not going to happen. That means the first event is officially not going to happen.
We hope to see everyone ready to kick off the season on November 24th at Scotia Speed World instead where we’ll run rain, shine, sleet or snow! (I vote for Sun, though!)
